    111 p.Este trabajo trata sobre la minería de textos clínicos, un campo del Procesamiento del Lenguaje Natural aplicado al dominio biomédico. El objetivo es automatizar la tarea de codificación médica. Los registros electrónicos de salud (EHR) son documentos que contienen información clínica sobre la salud de unpaciente. Los diagnósticos y procedimientos médicos plasmados en la Historia Clínica Electrónica están codificados con respecto a la Clasificación Internacional de Enfermedades (CIE). De hecho, la CIE es la base para identificar estadísticas de salud internacionales y el estándar para informar enfermedades y condiciones de salud. Desde la perspectiva del aprendizaje automático, el objetivo es resolver un problema extremo de clasificación de texto de múltiples etiquetas, ya que a cada registro de salud se le asignan múltiples códigos ICD de un conjunto de más de 70 000 términos de diagnóstico. Una cantidad importante de recursos se dedican a la codificación médica, una laboriosa tarea que actualmente se realiza de forma manual. Los EHR son narraciones extensas, y los codificadores médicos revisan los registros escritos por los médicos y asignan los códigos ICD correspondientes. Los textos son técnicos ya que los médicos emplean una jerga médica especializada, aunque rica en abreviaturas, acrónimos y errores ortográficos, ya que los médicos documentan los registros mientras realizan la práctica clínica real.     Curs de camp virtual de l'assignatura Estratigrafia (Grau de Geologia). Es va crear un campament virtual, donades les condicions de confinament associades a la pandèmia que van impedir la seva realització originalment plantejada al camp. Durant la realització del curs online amb BBCollaborate i jitsi es va fer ús de noves metodologies docents que inclouen l'ús de models digitals d'afloraments propis, eines online de visualització (GoogleEarth) i d'altres com LIME. Les sessions del campament van ser enregistrades i es troben disponibles

    Los sistemas eléctricos experimentan cambios importantes relacionados con su composición y la estructura, así como en las estrategias de control, protección y operación. Las micro-redes están encargadas de suministrar la energía al usuario final, y son objeto de valiosos estudios y publicaciones actuales, debido principalmente a que contribuyen con la integración de sistemas de generación distribuida y de unidades almacenamiento de energía a pequeña escala. Las micro-redes son sistemas de energía que funcionan de manera controlada, ya que en la mayoría de los casos hay disponibilidad de mediciones, algoritmos de control y actuadores. Las mediciones de voltaje y corriente se utilizan para analizar el comportamiento local en varios lugares de la micro-red. Los algoritmos de control se aplican para tomar decisiones que permitan alcanzar los objetivos de control, como la regulación de la tensión y la frecuencia, y el seguimiento de potencia, entre otros. Los actuadores más importantes en las micro-redes son los convertidores de potencia, que interconectan tanto las fuentes primarias como los dispositivos de almacenamiento de energía con las otras partes de la micro-red. Estos actuadores son responsables de entregar la energía producida por las fuentes primarias a la micro-red, y también de administrar el estado de carga de los dispositivos de almacenamiento de energía. Este libro contiene los aspectos fundamentales del desarrollo de esquemas de control de convertidores del tipo fuente de tensión (voltage source converter - VSC), aplicados a las micro-redes, bajo el enfoque de optimización unificado. Las estrategias de control desarrolladas consideran los diferentes niveles de control jerárquico que incluye: el control de nivel cero en sus lazos interno y externo; el control primario orientado a mantener la estabilidad del sistema luego de una perturbación; el control secundario orientado a mejorar la calidad de la tensión y la frecuencia luego de la acción del control primario; y finalmente, el control terciario, asociado a la operación de la micro-red, considerando la disponibilidad del recurso energético primario, los requerimientos de los clientes y los aspectos económicos de la operación

    Next generation flow for minimally-invasive blood characterization of MGUS and multiple myeloma at diagnosis based on circulating tumor plasma cells (CTPC)

    © The Author(s) 2018.Here, we investigated for the first time the frequency and number of circulating tumor plasma cells (CTPC) in peripheral blood (PB) of newly diagnosed patients with localized and systemic plasma cell neoplasms (PCN) using next-generation flow cytometry (NGF) and correlated our findings with the distinct diagnostic and prognostic categories of the disease. Overall, 508 samples from 264 newly diagnosed PCN patients, were studied. CTPC were detected in PB of all active multiple myeloma (MM; 100%), and smoldering MM (SMM) patients (100%), and in more than half (59%) monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS) cases (p <0.0001); in contrast, CTPC were present in a small fraction of solitary plasmacytoma patients (18%). Higher numbers of CTPC in PB were associated with higher levels of BM infiltration and more adverse prognostic features, together with shorter time to progression from MGUS to MM (p <0.0001) and a shorter survival in MM patients with active disease requiring treatment (p ≤ 0.03).     The age of the"Grande Coupure" mammal turnover: New constraints from the Eocene Oligocene record of the Eastern Ebro Basin (NE Spain.)

    The Grande Coupure represents a major terrestrial faunal turnover recorded in Eurasia associated with the overall climate shift at the Eocene-Oligocene transition. During this event, a large number of European Eocene endemic mammals became extinct and new Asian immigrants appeared. The absolute age of the Grande Coupure, however, has remained controversial for decades. The Late Eocene-Oligocene continental record of the Eastern Ebro Basin (NE Spain) constitutes a unique opportunity to build a robust magnetostratigraphy- based chronostratigraphy which can contribute with independent age constraints for this important turnover. This study presents new magnetostratigraphic data of a 495-m-thick section (Moià-Santpedor) that ranges from 36.1 Ma to 33.3 Ma. The integration of the new results with previous litho- bio- and magnetostratigraphic records of the Ebro Basin yields accurate ages for the immediately pre- and post-Grand Coupure mammal fossil assemblages found in the study area, bracketing the Grande Coupure to an age embracing the Eocene-Oligocene transition, with a maximum allowable lag of 0.5 Myr with respect to this boundary. The shift to drier conditions that accompanied the global cooling at the Eocene-Oligocene transition probably determined the sedimentary trends in the Eastern Ebro Basin. The occurrence and expansion of an amalgamated-channel sandstone unit is interpreted as the forced response of the fluvial fan system to the transient retraction of the central-basin lake systems. The new results from the Ebro Basin allow us to revisit correlations for the controversial Eocene-Oligocene record of the Hampshire Basin (Isle of Wight, UK), and their implications for the calibration of the Mammal Palaeogene reference levels MP18 to MP21

    vEGU21: Gather Online | 19-30 April 2021Magnetostratigraphy is the key to put disparate chronological pieces together in a consistent chronostratigraphic framework. Provided that a long continuous record of reversals can be obtained from the sedimentary record, a correlation with the GPTS may be established. Magnetostratigraphy provides added value to the chronology as long as it keeps certain independence from external age constraints, such as bioevents calibrated elsewhere or radiochronologic data. An independent correlation is meant to not be anchored to a given chron on the basis of an external age constrain. Our experience recommends that external age constraints are best taken with flexibility, allowing for the searching of a best fit between the magnetic polarity sequence (in meters) and the GPTS (in million-years). This rationale relies on the fact that the Geological Time Scale is the tool that allows earth-scientist of many varied disciplines to understand and discuss about the dimension of time. But the time scale calibration is a task in continuous refinement. As the accuracy and precision of the dating tools increases, our ability to unravel lag times in geological processes increases too. As more refined data is produced, the calibration of the time scale reveals as an ongoing task rather than a final product. Here we present the case of the Eocene-Oligocene Transition (EOT) as recorded in alluvial-lacustrine sediments of the eastern Ebro Basin. An earlier work provided a magnetostratigraphic correlation that was in agreement with small-mammals biostratigraphic data. A key constraint to this study was the Santpedor locality, which yielded a characteristic post-Grand Coupure small mammal assemblage, then attributed to the lowest Oligocene. An extended record of the magnetostratigraphy has challenged the earlier correlation and puts forward an alternate scenario that reveals a misfit with earlier and recent biochronological interpretations of the fossil mammal record. The significance of this discrepancy in terms of heterochrony of biostratigraphic events, the punctuated character of faunal replacement across the EOT, and time lags between the marine and continental realms may need to be addressed
